Setting a New Standard in Coronary Plaque Analysis
Introduction and Background
At Live Healthy Imaging in Houston, Texas, delivering advanced cardiovascular imaging with speed, precision, and clinical relevance is central to patient care. Coronary artery disease remains the leading cause of cardiovascular mortality worldwide, and accurate plaque quantification plays an essential role in risk stratification, treatment planning, and long-term monitoring.
Live Healthy Imaging first implemented Circle’s cvi42 for its advanced cardiac MR solution, followed by the addition of the CORE CT platform to expand their advanced cardiac CT capabilities. Building on this established foundation, they have now integrated the FDA 510(k)-cleared cvi42 | Plaque module into their workflow. This progression reflects a strategic commitment to comprehensive, multimodality cardiovascular imaging.
By adopting the cvi42 | Plaque module, Live Healthy Imaging has brought AI-enabled coronary plaque analysis directly in-house, further strengthening their coronary CT angiography program and enhancing their ability to deliver precise, data-driven patient care.

The Challenge: Delays in Traditional
Plaque Analysis
Previously, coronary plaque analysis was outsourced to a third-party vendor for post-processing. Standard turnaround times ranged from three to four hours.
Although clinically effective, this approach created workflow inefficiencies and delayed meaningful patient discussions. Results were not immediately available after imaging, limiting the ability to review findings with patients during the same visit.
