Quality Management & Research with cvi42
Versatility, unparalleled accuracy, customizable settings as well as easy and streamlined data handling make cmr42 the tool of choice for Clinical Research and Quality Management in CMR.
Features enhancing Data Quality and Output
Pervasive Features
- Sub-pixel–level accuracy of area and signal intensity analysis
- Settings for Signal Intensity Standard Deviation can be set to subpixel–weighted or biased (non–normal SI distribution) standard deviation
- Parametric display of signal intensity calculation results
- Live update of results after contour modification
- Contour adjustment for rotational myocardial motion
- Manual rotation of images
- Cross–reference windows for easy orientation and slice position verification
- Display of yet not analyzed slices (as grey) in polar maps
- Perfusion module: The user can select between three different options for baseline correction; Calculation of perfusion reserve, normalized to the LV bloodpool
- Adjustment of the slice range according to mitral valve position
- Various curve fitting algorithms
- Custom setting of error tolerance and coefficient of determination
- Correction for background noise by curve truncation or baseline subtraction
LV/RV Function Module-specific features
- "Exclude Area" contour tool to exclude the atrial cavity or intra cardiac masses from LV volume calculation
- Tool for inclusion or exclusion of papillary muscles in/from LV mass.
- Reference window for immediate orientation, e.g. precise basal slice definition.
- Correction for mitral valve plane position: By defining the basal plane in 2 orthogonal orientations, cmr42 will calculate a correction plane. Volumetric results will be updated accordingly and the plane will be displayed in the reference windows.
- The LV–curve diagram will display slopes and the following values will be calculated:
- peak filling rate
- peak ejection rate rate
- Regional analysis:
- Define myocardial segments by placing two RV insertion points at the anterior and inferior border of the septum whereas the septal part of the circumference will be accounted as one third of the total circumference.
- Values including volumes will be calculated and reported for each AHA segment
- Systolic wall thickness will be displayed in a polar map
- Report of slice–specific and total peak wall thickness
- Perform a volumetry of the left and right atrium.
- Definition and volumetry of RV trabecular structures
Tissue Characterization* Module – specific features
- Quantitative signal intensity analysis of T2, Early and Late Gd Enhancement for quantification and color–coded display of myocardial areas with high signal intensity, based on user–defined thresholds
- Display of contours in a 3D mesh model, regional values and enhanced volume are displayed in a color–coded surface
- Various threshold settings, including Full–Width–Half–Max
- Thresholds can be defined separately (core and grey zone) for every slice
- Option to manually define the infarct zone
- Definition of no–reflow area and appropriate inclusion into infarcted myocardial volume
- Manual core and grey zone (10% of infarct max SI) definition for each slice and color–coded display of grey zone
- Calculation of the volume and area of the peri–infarct area with tray zone, providing multiple threshold
- Define myocardial segments by placing two RV insertion points, thereby defining the anterior and inferior segment borders for the septal segments. The septal part of the circumference will be accounted as one third of the total circumference.
- Values will be reported per each AHA segment
- Option to include or exclude tissue from analysis
- Histogram view of signal intensity distribution in regions of interest
* The Tissue Characterization Module is not available in USA since the use of contrast agents for Cardiac MR procedures is not FDA–approved. A non–diagnostic version of cmr42, intended for scientific research only is available on request.
Flow Module specific features
- (Sub–)pixel accuracy adjustment for flow area definition allows for a more accurate calculation of data in small ROIs, e.g. coronary arteries
- Perform the flow analysis on ROIs of two series
- Perform basic calculations of the values derived from two flow series:
- Total forward flow difference and sum
- Total forward flow ratio.
- Swap the phases as displayed in the frames for flow velocity and derived data.
- Define an anatomical region to the results of a flow analysis.
